The Department of Biochemistry and Functional Genomics at the Université de Sherbrooke is seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are looking for an exceptional scientist with a proven track record of innovative research in addressing the complexity of biochemical problems related to the basic science of any aspect of RNA biology or RNA-based therapeutics. A complementary expertise in intrinsically disordered proteins/regions, RNA-protein condensates, and employing techniques that encompass, but are not limited to, structural, integrative, genomic, and quantitative methodologies would be an asset.
The Université de Sherbrooke is internationally recognized for its excellence in RNA research, and for bringing together RNA biologists and biochemists within the Riboclub.
Qualifications:
- A PhD in Biochemistry or a related field.
- Postdoctoral experience in a relevant area of research.
- A strong record of research accomplishments.
- Potential to develop a successful and externally funded research program.Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a vigorous research program to gain a comprehensive understanding of RNA-related biological processes.
- Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels (no teaching the first 2 years, 20 hrs/year).
- Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
